Preventative Maintenance Technician – Texas Behavioral Health Center The Texas Behavioral Health Center is a newly completed state-funded psychiatric hospital in Dallas. The role involves maintenance and repair of building systems. Job Summary Works under minimal supervision to provide journeyman level skills in the performance of work in two trades or crafts. Experience: 4 years of related work; journeyman level experience; 2 years in skilled maintenance trade (PM, DI/RO, Air, Vac). Job Duties Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment including electrical, air systems, deionized water system, plumbing, mechanical equipment, etc.; proactively maintain all assigned areas and consult with customers on priority of work. Start up, shut down, and adjust equipment or systems in accordance with established operational and safety procedures; complete all required compliance training and adhere to internal controls and reporting structure. Inspect systems and equipment for lubrication, calibration, vibration, seal failures, and perform detailed inspections to ensure proper operation; report unusual conditions or deficiencies. Perform duties across crafts as skills develop, including major repairs on technical systems and supporting equipment; perform preventative, predictive or corrective maintenance tasks within timelines. Support area shift coverage, after‑hours, or extended projects as needed and assist in major maintenance repairs; train and mentor new personnel; teach basic codes and proper tool use; interpret and provide marked‑up blueprints or drawings for corrections. Document conditions and perform minor repairs following departmental guidelines; serve as primary contact for customers for all Facilities Management services. Recommend major repairs or maintenance variances in writing. Participate in the Facilities Management sponsored in‑house trade training program and attend maintenance training courses, area staff and safety meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
