Opportunity

This is not a typical engineering role - it is a front-row seat to building the technology backbone of a new independent investment firm that already manages billions. As a Senior Quantitative Developer, you will join at the exact moment when your work defines the systems that will power trading, research, and data for years to come. The compensation and professional reward match the magnitude of the challenge.

You will architect high-performance market data systems that feed real-time signals to trading desks. You will build collaborative environments where quantitative researchers transform mathematical models into live strategies. Your cloud-based simulation platforms will let teams experiment at scale without bottlenecks. Every line of code and system you design directly impacts the firm's ability to make fast, informed trading decisions.

The ideal person combines deep buy-side experience with outstanding Python engineering and the maturity to own large initiatives. You communicate clearly, make sound quantitative judgments, and thrive in a flat structure where the CTO trusts you to drive critical projects. Whether you have six or sixteen years of experience, you have a track record of building durable systems in fast-paced, high-standards environments.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a historic spinout that will be talked about in the industry for decades. The firm offers total compensation from $750,000 to over $1,000,000, a guaranteed first-year bonus, relocation support, and a culture that top engineers describe as the happiest they have ever been. If you are ready to take true ownership and write a career-defining chapter, apply today and step into the spotlight.

Non-Negotiables

  • You bring real buy-side experience from a systematic fund, quant trading firm, or have proven yourself in a high-standards trading environment
  • You are an expert Python engineer who builds frameworks, infrastructure, and systems, not just scripts
  • You understand how data, models, and trading systems interact and can work productively with quantitative researchers
  • You have the seniority to own large technical initiatives, with a track record of impact in fast-paced, high-trust engineering cultures
  • Your communication skills are excellent, both written and verbal, and you can clearly articulate technical decisions
  • You hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field from a strong program, with a record of meaningful achievements
What's In It For You
  • Total compensation reaches $750K to over $1M, with a guaranteed first-year bonus and no rigid band ceilings
  • Relocation support is available for the right candidate, smoothing the transition to New York City
  • You will help build an independent platform during a historic spinout, a career milestone that will define your resume for years
  • Leadership and mentorship come directly from a CTO with a top-tier quant fund background, offering high standards and high trust
  • The culture blends startup energy with deep institutional backing, giving you autonomy without bureaucracy
  • Enjoy a prime downtown Manhattan office with flexible schedules, including remote Mondays
Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain low-latency systems that deliver real-time market data to trading infrastructure, ensuring speed and reliability
  • Build integrated research environments where quantitative analysts develop, test, and deploy predictive models from feature engineering through execution
  • Architect scalable, cloud-based simulation and experimentation platforms that empower large-scale quantitative research without becoming a bottleneck
  • Develop foundational toolchains and data pipelines for new asset classes and trading strategies, defining what needs to exist from scratch
  • Bridge the gap between research and production, ensuring that models built in notebooks run reliably at scale
  • Collaborate with quants, senior technologists, and leadership to drive engineering quality and platform evolution
Preferred Qualifications
  • C++ proficiency is a strong plus, especially for performance-critical modules
  • Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing in a trading environment is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with execution systems and performance optimization at scale sets you apart
  • Strong knowledge of data pipeline engineering and system reliability on Linux platforms
  • A degree from a top-tier university in computer science, math, or statistics is preferred
  • Prior experience at a top quant trading firm or systematic hedge fund accelerates your impact
