Position: Director, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: IT
Reports To: EVP Chief Information Officer 

Description :

This position is responsible for establishing effective governance and overseeing the Project Management Office, with direct project oversight for all Bankwide projects. 

The EPMO Director must develop and maintain productive relationships with key Bank stakeholders, department staff and third parties to ensure effective buy-in and adherence to the established project management process. The position is also responsible for adherence to project management guidelines and principles and providing project leadership and organization throughout the bank. Routinely presents project status to management and chairs project-based governance and operational meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the bank’s EVP/CIO, works to establish appropriate governance and framework around the bank’s project management process and portfolio of projects. Assesses effectiveness and overall project management governance on at least an annual basis and makes improvements/changes, as necessary.

• Monitoring and controlling the alignment of the EPMO Practices and the maturity level and environmental factors of the institution.

• Aligning Project Management practices to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.

• Management of the Enterprise Project Management Team including contract project managers and other EPMO Resources.

• Serves on EPMO Steering Committee and is responsible for preparing meeting content and associated communications resulting from committee decision making.

• May be called upon to manage projects depending on resource availability.

Required Professional Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent through coursework or training.

• At least 15+ years demonstrated success as a Project Manager within the financial services industry.

• At least 5 years’ experience managing high level Project Managers and Business Analysts.

• Project Management Certification

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Ability to think and solve problems at the macro and micro level.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across the organization.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to multi-task effectively, juggling priorities in a demanding environment.

• High energy individual with flexibility and ability to retain composure under pressure.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). 

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.

• Experience working with Project Portfolio Management tools and techniques. 

Work Environment/Additional Requirements:

• General office equipment, including but not limited to, computer, calculator, multi-line phone, copier, and data projector.

SUPERVISORY SCOPE:

• A Team of up to Five comprised of Project Managers and PMO Analyst.
