Mobile Vehicle Inspector II (Manheim)

Job Overview Mobile Inspector II is a key member of Manheim's mobile inspections team, delivering accurate, high-quality vehicle condition inspections across a designated region. This role focuses on capturing thorough, precise documentation that reflects a vehicle's true condition while meeting Manheim inspection standards. Mobile Inspector IIs build trust with clients through timely, dependable inspections, highlight the value of the Manheim Marketplace, and help drive additional inspection volume through consistently excellent work. This position is expected to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong independence, sound judgment, and proactive problem-solving capabilities. Location Candidate must reside in Bothell, WA. Compensation Hourly pay $18.37 - $27.60. The rate may vary, and the role is eligible for an annual incentive/commission target. Responsibilities Conduct a thorough vehicle inspection. Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles at dealer/client locations safely. Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system (VIN, mileage, sub series). Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items. Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components. Inspect and record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options. Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles (powertrain, drivetrain, electrical components). Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management. Adapt to changes in daily appointments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit. Develop strong knowledge of clients in territory and work with partners to keep them active with Manheim mobile inspections. Receive data and insight from partners and leverage to maximize volume of units inspected on dealer lots. Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador and provide premier client experience by interfacing with core clients and ensuring satisfaction. Function as a solid team player and work closely with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, other Manheim workgroups and auctions. Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews. Understand NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy. Work in a continuous improvement/Lean environment and encourage lean culture. Maintain production expectations set by the leader. Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling behaviors. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma/GED required and three years of related experience. Safe drivers required; a valid driver's license is required. Travel 100% required; reliable transportation and mileage reimbursement program. Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong technical aptitude, detail orientation, and time management skills. Motivated to work independently with remote supervision. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction. Physical ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for an extended period. Regular standing, walking, talking, and hearing required. Frequent crouching, bending, kneeling to inspect a vehicle side or underneath. Strength to lift a hood or trunk and reach inside or underneath a vehicle. Near vision to identify dings, scratches, paint work, hail damage, and interior damage. Ability to identify exterior or interior colors and adapt to different lighting conditions. Physical and mental acuity to execute duties within required timeframes to meet business requirements. Preferred Qualifications Preferred experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices. Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge helpful. Familiarity with unibody and full-frame helpful. Ability to read and interpret financial documents and basic accounting practices. Preferred job experience in banking/auto finance, accounting, inventory management, and/or dealership operations. Detail oriented with ability to accurately enter data and information. Proven experience with conflict resolution. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with technology platforms and applications.
