Investigative Analyst

Summary

This position is located in the DoW Office of Inspector General (DoW OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (DIG-AI), Whistleblower Reprisal Investigations (WRI) Directorate. The incumbent will provide programmatic support to the DIG-AI senior leadership; including the leadership for the Whistleblower Reprisal Investigations Directorate.

Duties

Help

• Provides the full range of statistical analysis and reporting for whistleblower reprisal investigations. Establishes, develops, maintains, and provides standardized and ad-hoc reports in order to enable enable effective management and oversight.
• Establishes, develops, maintains, and provides standardized and ad hoc statistical reports, using spreadsheets, pivot tables, and other functions, for internal and external audiences. Manages database quality control to ensure data integrity.
• Performs periodic evaluation of closed case files to ensure program meets CIGIE and AI standards; includes random sampling of a statistically significant number of cases for thoroughness and completeness.
• Assists in the generation of graphics, dashboard and views of program statistics to guide personnel in the accomplishment of business processes and functions.
• Represents the interests of the directorate in the implementation of the enterprise-wide case management system to the other major DoD components, including identifying and testing requirements to develop functionalities of the CRM-based system.

Qualifications

Time in Grade:

For entry at the GS-13 grade level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent or higher grade in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated work experience related to developing statistical reports for internal and external stakeholders; implementing policies and procedures related to the case management system that accurately reflect and support the directorate's business processes. Experience also includes providing technical support to WRI personnel on the case management system, including developing and delivering training, user guides, and customized dashboards; identifying data entry errors and ensuring they are corrected; developing user stories and testing functionality in the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide CRM-based system.
