Locum Tenens Opportunity for Urology Physician

Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia

Contract Type: Long-Term Independent Contractor Agreement

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with on-call duties for 10 days each month (including weekends)

About This Position

Our organization is collaborating with the VA Healthcare System to find Board Certified or Board Eligible Urology Physicians to deliver exceptional urological care to Veterans at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. This long-term contract position provides a chance to significantly contribute in a supportive, team-focused VA setting.

As a Urology Physician, your role will involve direct patient care, performing outpatient procedures, conducting surgeries, and executing specialty examinations, all while working alongside interdisciplinary clinical teams to enhance the health and well-being of Veterans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients in the urology outpatient clinic.
• Carry out urological procedures such as cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries, and bladder cancer interventions.
• Conduct inpatient rounds for urology patients.
• Perform specialty examinations related to urological conditions, including compensation & pension and Agent Orange assessments.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, residents, and other clinical personnel to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate test results to both providers and patients in accordance with VA standards.
• Engage in quality improvement meetings, morbidity & mortality reviews, and staff discussions.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation within the VA electronic health record system.
• Adhere to VA protocols regarding patient safety, infection control, and privacy.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted medical license in the U.S. (any state).
• ABU Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Completion of VA credentialing and mandatory training (including EHR, HIPAA, patient safety, emergency response, etc.).
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in urological procedures, including the use of holmium laser, ESWL, and fluoroscopy.
• Strong clinical, communication, and documentation abilities.
