Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Night shifts available); variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; rotating shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks; 1:4-1:5 patient ratio Highlights: Mixed acuity surgical oncology unit caring for both PCU and Med-Surg patients in a fast-paced environment 36-bed unit specializing in surgical oncology including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastics 16-week contract with 72 hours of orientation; Epic EMR system Procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin/heparin drips, and oncologic emergency management Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more Floating within scope of practice may be required to other acute care oncology units Requirements: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of PCU experience (must be current within the last 12 months) Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred Epic charting experience required Experience with cardiac telemetry, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and tracheostomy care Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work with a highly trained PCU team in a specialized surgical oncology environment where you'll make a meaningful impact on patients facing complex diagnoses.
