Handyman

Overview: Handyman, under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager or superintendent, as required, is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the residents and employees of the complex. The Porter will be required to have a working knowledge of building systems and apartment building facilities management.Responsibilities:Day-to-day maintenance operations, completion of work orders and tracking work orders in management softwareReport to various locations in the scatter-site portfolio to complete light plumbing, electric and carpentry work in apartment units and building common areasCommunicate goals to porter staff in a coordinated effort to maintain the buildingsExecuting emergency repairs in a small subset of assigned buildingsInspect units for damages upon move out or upon completion of work, or to ensure that all apartments are kept up to NYC’s HQS guidelineReport to the SuperintendentArrange access to building, back of house building areas, and to apartment units for City and State Inspectors, Contractors and ManagementManage and replenish inventory of building supplies, janitorial supplies.Requirements:3+ years of experience in building maintenanceExcellent communication skills – written and verbalIntermediate knowledge of plumbing, steam heating systems, light electrical work, and carpentryBasic experience or familiarity with various different building system components, such as elevators, sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, sewer linesOSHA 30 certified preferableThis position is a mobile role, requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling on a daily basis.Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Handyman must be available to work all shifts, including evening or weekend shifts. #J-18808-Ljbffr BOULEVARD TOGETHER OWNER LLC
