A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STORE MANAGER

As a Store Manager, you are responsible for the overall success of your branch. You lead by example, fostering a culture centered around customer service, teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Working closely with employees, customers, vendors, and company leadership, you ensure the branch operates efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with company goals.

You oversee all aspects of branch operations, including sales growth, inventory management, customer service, warehouse activities, fleet operations, and operational compliance. Utilizing NetSuite and other company systems, you monitor sales and profitability, review inventory performance, track open orders, analyze key performance metrics, and leverage reporting tools to make informed business decisions. You identify opportunities for improvement, maintain strong customer relationships, support outside sales efforts, and help grow market share within your territory.

As a leader, you recruit, develop, coach, and motivate employees while ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to succeed. You remain actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the branch, answering phones, assisting customers at the counter, resolving issues, and supporting warehouse activities when needed. Whether improving processes, coordinating deliveries, managing inventory investments, or helping a customer, you understand that no task is beneath you when it comes to supporting your team and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR STORE MANAGERS

• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Proven ability to drive sales growth and achieve business objectives.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience managing inventory and operational processes.
• Proficiency with computers, ERP systems, and business software applications.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
• HVAC industry experience preferred.
• Wholesale distribution experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. - Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR STORE MANAGER

This is a full-time salaried position with the majority of hours scheduled during store operating hours of 7:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. As the leader of the branch, the Store Manager is expected to maintain a "first-in, last-out" mentality, setting the example for the team through a strong work ethic, visibility, and commitment to customer service. Additional hours may be required based on seasonal business demands, employee development activities, customer needs, inventory management, and special projects.

The Store Manager is also expected to participate in after-hours customer support and emergency response situations when needed. While these occurrences are infrequent, the ability to respond to urgent customer needs, facility issues, or operational challenges outside of normal business hours is an important part of leading a successful branch and delivering exceptional customer service.
