We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to become an integral part of our dedicated School Mental Health Team at a prominent private educational institution in Scott City, Kansas. Work Environment\nThis role offers a unique remote setting, primarily operating from a Hospice Center, allowing you to provide vital mental health services away from traditional school constraints. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends required to ensure comprehensive mental health coverage for our students. Some on-call availability may also be necessary to respond to urgent situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify students' needs, informed by their personal history and presenting concerns, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans. \n
- Implement individualized treatment plans that are collaboratively developed with students and their families, focusing on emotional well-being and successful school integration. \n
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, addressing a range of mental health challenges. \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting personal growth and teaching effective coping strategies to help students manage stress and regulate their emotions. \n
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide a holistic treatment approach that meets the complexities of mental health issues. \n
- Provide crisis intervention when needed, employing de-escalation techniques and referrals to higher levels of care as situations demand. \n
- Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering a deeper understanding and reducing stigma. \n
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all treatment activities, progress notes, and compliance records, meeting legal and ethical standards. \n
- Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss student progress and strategies for continuous improvement. \n
- Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines affecting mental health practices in educational settings. \n
The LCSW will directly support a diverse range of students experiencing various mental health challenges.
