Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in New Hyde Park. This role involves working within a busy healthcare environment, focusing on maintaining sterile conditions and proper management of surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications
• Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, and additional equipment
• Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
• Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment for decontamination
• Examine and maintain cleanliness and functionality of instruments
• Receive and fill requisitions from hospital departments
• Assist in ordering and maintaining department inventory levels
• Perform duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) required
• At least two years of certified experience or one year with additional four years of experience
• CIS preferred
• Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods
• Effective communication in English (verbally and in writing)
