What You’ll Do:

Collect blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and quality standards.

Prepare specimens for lab testing, verifying patient information and ensuring proper labeling to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.

Explain procedures to patients, creating a comfortable environment that fosters trust and confidence.

Demonstrate exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimen collections, following regulatory and safety guidelines.

Adhere to infection control protocols, safety procedures, and organizational policies to uphold a safe environment for staff and patients.

Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection duties, demonstrating proficiency in venipuncture and capillary techniques.

Support operational efficiency by managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting, ensuring timely sample processing and recordkeeping.

Collaborate with team members and leadership to promote process excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

Proven experience in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician is preferred; in some regions, current licensure or certification is mandatory.

Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and safety protocols.

Excellent communication skills with a patient-focused approach.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.

Competency in data entry and recordkeeping with reliable accuracy.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record may be required for travel between locations (where applicable).

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training or certification.

Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Bilingual skills to serve diverse patient populations.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

1-3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Prior work in a Patient Service Center environment is highly desirable.

Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings adds value.

Data entry proficiency enhances operational efficiency.

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel between multiple healthcare facilities or service centers, sometimes on short notice.

Committed to following all safety, confidentiality, and professional policies.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a demanding environment.

Physically capable of performing blood draws and standing for extended periods.
