HVAC Controls Systems Technician

Benefits Competitive pay Paid vacation/holidays/sick time — 10 days of vacation in the first year Comprehensive benefits package available day one, including 401(k), medical, dental, and vision care Company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided to complete all jobs Extensive product and on‑the‑job/cross‑training opportunities Zero Harm safety policy Employee discount programs (The Loop by Perk Spot) Responsibilities Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls problems Respond to basic warranty calls and provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service How You Will Do It Load system‑level controller software Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) Complete all required commissioning documentation Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment Complete administrative tasks, including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training; maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities and quotes to support recommendations Requirements Demonstrated technical aptitude Ability to use hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) Basic computer skills Attention to detail Effective communication and listening skills Depending on location, mounting and termination of low voltage devices may require special licensing requirements Preferred: Two years’ experience installing electronic and/or mechanical systems Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems Compensation Hourly range: $23–$28, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and market data alignment.
