Medical Assistant-Certified

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) provides essential clinical support across multiple outpatient clinics in the Seattle area. This role involves floating between various locations to cover same-day staffing needs in adult and pediatric outpatient settings, including General/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics. The MA-C performs patient care duties, assists with clinical procedures, and supports efficient clinic operations. Reliable transportation and the ability to adapt to a dynamic schedule are critical for success in this position. Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical support in outpatient clinics across multiple specialties and locations.
• Float between Central, North, and Eastside regions to cover same-day call outs and staffing gaps.
• Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and preparation for provider examinations.
• Perform clinical tasks according to MA-C certification and clinic protocols.
• Use EPIC electronic health record system for charting and documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinic staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Participate in a 4 to 5 week orientation with a preceptor to become proficient in clinic operations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential required; cannot be MA-R, MA-P, or MA-HT.
• Minimum 1 year experience as an MA-C in adult and/or pediatric outpatient clinic settings.
• Experience in General/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics outpatient clinics.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Reliable transportation to travel between multiple clinic locations.
• Ability to float between clinics across the Seattle/Puget Sound area.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in multiple outpatient clinic specialties.
• Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and scheduling portals.

Special Considerations:

• Floating between three regional clinic areas (Central, North, Eastside) is mandatory.
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts required.
• Schedule is provided daily via text message between 6:00 and 6:30 AM.
• Shifts start promptly at 8:00 AM with 1.5 to 2 hours travel time allotted after notification.
• Orientation includes 4 to 5 weeks rotating with a preceptor.
• Scrub color must be any solid color except purple.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 5 days per week.
• No weekend or holiday shifts.
• Daily schedule assigned each morning based on staffing needs.
