Dining Services Supervisor

Job Description Responsible for providing a high quality dining experience for residents and guests. The position involves greeting and seating guests, overseeing dining services staff, maintaining a clean dining environment, ensuring timely service, adhering to safety and sanitation standards, and assisting with menu planning and staff scheduling. Responsibilities Assist Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates. Ensure smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room. Ensure room service orders are delivered timely and properly. Ensure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Maintain a pleasant and clean environment and inspect work to ensure completion. Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards. Plan daily menu for residents in accordance with company standards and procedures. Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift and make changes due to absences. Work with Dining Room Manager to produce weekly schedules with budgetary guidelines for service staff. Assist service staff during mealtime as needed and greet and seat residents and guests. Assist in resident billing of food services charges. Oversee staff in absence of Manager and provide supervision for special events. In consultation with the Director, Dining Services, hire, train, discipline and terminate departmental employees in accordance with company policy. Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within facility to assure food service is properly maintained and meets the needs of the residents. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; one year of college or technical training preferred. Minimum of one to two years related experience; prior supervisory experience preferred. Current ServSafe Certification required; possess or obtain any required local, state, and county food handling or sanitation licenses. Basic analytic ability and working knowledge of the organization. Outgoing, cheerful, energetic, friendly and organized with strong communication skills. Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written directions. Capable of walking and standing for long periods of time. Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods. Occasional weekend, evening or night work. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, infections or biological hazards. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Possible exposure to latex. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Talk or hear required.
