Hospice Chaplain

The Hospice Chaplain assists patients and families in meeting their psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and death. This role within Franciscan strives to provide pastoral ministry through visitation, counsel, and support to patients and families, as requested.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Document patient care information, and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families.
• Provide a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles e.g. active listening, reflection, discussion, prayers
• Respond promptly to calls providing spiritual and emotional support to patients/families.
• Serve in an on-call rotation and provide patient support outside business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Required
• Master's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Preferred
• Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)- Preferred
• National Association of Catholic Chaplains Certification (NACC)- Preferred
• Ecclesiastical Endorsement- Required
• Auto Insurance- Required
• Driver's License- Required
• 2 Years- Ministerial Experience- Required
• 1 Year- Hospice Experience- Preferred
• 1 Year- Healthcare Experience- Preferred

TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Up to 75%
