ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our High Acuity Float Pool. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a variety of critical and specialized settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various units including Critical Care, Observation, Medical-Surgical, and more.
• Monitor patient conditions, perform assessments, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Titrate intravenous drips and maintain proficiency in managing various medical devices.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding care and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in patient care.

Shift and Scheduling

• Night shift: 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirements: 3 weekend shifts per schedule
• Self-scheduling is available

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Prior floating experience is required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with EPIC systems is mandatory.
• Must have experience with titrating medications.
• Washington State nursing license or Compact license required.

Common Diagnoses and Patient Types

This role will involve caring for patients with medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac diagnoses.

Nurse-Patient Ratios

Nurse-patient ratios are maintained in accordance with AACN CCU staffing guidelines, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 based on patient acuity.

Equipment and Technology

• Utilization of advanced respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
• Working with Phillips monitor systems, with support from Monitor Techs.

Orientation and Training

• General Hospital Orientation starting on Mondays.
• Unit-specific training including Myles Modules and Cerner validation.
