Continuous Improvement Specialist

Location: Tempe, AZ
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Onsite

Fuze HR Solutions is partnering with a well-established electronics manufacturing organization in Tempe, AZ to hire a Continuous Improvement Specialist.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, identifying opportunities for improvement, and turning those opportunities into measurable results. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will lead Lean and operational excellence initiatives across a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment, with a focus on improving quality, cost, throughput, lead time, and overall efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings strong Lean manufacturing knowledge, experience leading shop-floor improvement projects, and the ability to engage employees and leadership in building a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Lead hands-on continuous improvement projects across manufacturing and support functions.
• Identify waste, process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve operational performance.
• Plan and facilitate Kaizen and rapid improvement events with cross-functional teams.
• Apply Lean methodologies including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Improve factory layouts, line balancing, cell design, material flow, and capacity utilization.
• Develop and maintain visual management systems throughout operations.
• Develop, track, and report KPIs to measure improvement initiatives and guide decision-making.
• Support New Program Introduction (NPI) by incorporating Lean principles into new products and processes.
• Facilitate continuous improvement workshops with both leadership and shop-floor teams.
• Coach employees on CI tools, structured problem-solving, and standardized work.
• Help standardize and sustain successful improvements across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, or related experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading shop-floor improvement projects with measurable results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies.
• Experience with factory layout, industrial engineering, material flow, and visual management.
• Experience working within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, KPI tracking, and reporting.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to engage employees at all levels of an organization and drive change.

Nice to Have

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience within electronics manufacturing.
• Experience in an ITAR or controlled-goods manufacturing environment.

Compensation

$70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
