Join us as we continue to redefine the standards of excellence in property management FACILITIES/OPERATIONS MANAGER Barkan Management Company, a Boston based company with regional offices in Boston, NYC, Hartford, Providence, and Washington DC is currently seeking a qualified, motivated individual with superior customer service skills, for a full-time role as a Facilities/Operations Manager for a condominium property in Greater Boston-West. The Facilities/Operations Manager is responsible for the full day-to-day operations of the property. We are looking for an individual who will maintain the highest standards and strive to exceed the client’s needs and expectations. The Facilities/Operations Manager will be fluent in all aspects of management including: administration, maintenance and physical plant management, financial and budgetary oversight, resident and community relations, and personnel management. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients and staff. Attends all client meetings. Coordinates, oversees and/or manages repair and maintenance work assignments performed by maintenance technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping and snow removal. Reviews work orders to ensure that assignments are completed. Responsible for facilities inspections and reports. Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of services, and labor for projects. Manages capital projects such as roofing, siding, asphalt replacement, tennis courts, etc. Prepares capital project and operating budget and variance reports. Manages vendor relationships and responsible for invoice processing/approval and accuracy of all expenses. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet. Ability to use work order system. Working knowledge of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Working knowledge of contracts and related documents. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Facilities/Operations Manager for a residential or commercial property which entailed direct staff supervision. Experience identifying and coordinating capital projects is required. Industry designation/certifications (CMCA, AMS, PCAM, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
