Orientation Leader - SUMMER

Job Summary The Office of Admissions is selecting Orientation Leaders for summer Griffon Orientation sessions to welcome new students at Missouri Western State University. This summer appointment starts April4,2026 (position ends August14,2026). Key Responsibilities Facilitate and lead group discussions with new students and their guests. Share knowledge of the university and assist students and guests with questions. Serve as a role model for incoming students and peers. Send individualized follow‑up communication in a group chat with incoming students. Operate microphones, speakers, and other technologies. Assist with event set up and decorations including signage, outdoor yard signs, etc. Understand and support the goals of the Office of Admissions transition programs. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications MoWest student in good standing with the University and the St. Joseph community. Completed one full semester at Missouri Western (undergraduate 12 credit hours, graduate 6 credit hours). Part‑time or full‑time degree‑seeking student. Not currently on academic or disciplinary probation. Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the time of application and throughout the role. Enrolled for the summer or fall2026 semester to be eligible to work in this summer position. Available for all Griffon Orientation and training dates. Training Attend mandatory Orientation Leader Training in April. Summer GO (Griffon Orientation) Dates April21 – SJSD GO – Tuesday June5 – Athletes & Honors – Friday June17 – Online General GO – Wednesday June24 – Transfer GO – Wednesday July7 – General GO – Tuesday July16 – Online Transfer GO – Thursday Possible date in August, if needed. Location University Campus Hours of Work Up to 37.5 hours per week during the summer, up to 20 hours during the academic semester. Schedule will vary.
