About the Role

Sifted is hiring a Prep Cook who is willing to learn and grow with our company. We provide daily lunch for some of the hottest startups. We need a Prep Cook who can heat up the kitchen works well in a fast-paced environment and is responsive to the needs of our clients.

Schedule :

• Monday Tuesday and Wednesday: 4am - 12pm

What youll be doing

• Setting up and sanitizing workstations
• Following daily prep lists
• Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients to be used in the cooking process.
• Maintaining clear communication with the executive chef and city manager at all times
• Keeping station and work areas clean at all times
• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
• Unload packages from incoming trucks
• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
• Verify items according to order and invoices (quantity quality price etc.)
• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
• Ensure invoices are signed and filed properly
• Maintain all storage areas daily cleaning organizing identify items needing addressing
• Dishwasher support as needed

Our ideal candidate

• Has worked in previous kitchen roles such prep/dishwasher
• Has had experience with catering and event servicing
• Has excellent communication skills
• Has a working knowledge of diverse cooking methods ingredients and equipment
• Understanding of health and safety regulations for food service
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Keen eye for detail
• Ability to work efficiently in order to maximize team output and minimize overall labor hours
• Ability to maintain a calm and collected demeanor
• Ability to understand and communicate in written spoken English

Job Type: Part Time

Shift: Weekdays

Weekly day range: Monday Tuesday and Wednesday: 4am - 12pm

Eligibility : This position must maintain ServSafe Food Handler card (company-paid); must have a valid drivers license

Work environment : This is a position based both in a commercial kitchen and on-site in client offices

Physical requirements : This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to bend squat and reach
