Spherion Staffing is partnering with a premier client in New Ulm, MN to hire a CDL Driver Recruiter. In this Direct Hire role, you will drive full-cycle recruitment efforts by sourcing candidates, presenting fleet opportunities, executing hiring decisions, and onboarding top driver talent to keep trucks seated! Key Responsibilities Sourcing & Candidate Engagement: Actively source and engage CDL driver leads via inbound/outbound phone calls, text messaging, social media, internal candidate databases, rehires, and driver referrals. Communicate fleet options, home-time schedules, pay structures, and benefit packages clearly to prospective drivers. Retain and nurture passive driver leads to build a strong pipeline for future driving openings and expanding markets. Screening, Compliance & Hiring: Review applications, conduct phone interviews, and verify driver qualifications (licenses, commercial driving experience, and employment history). Manage the full-cycle driver hiring process from initial contact through orientation in a timely, organized manner. Ensure all driver application files and compliance reports (MVR, CDLIS, PSP, VOE, PRE) are complete, accurate, and fully compliant with DOT, FCRA, and EEO regulations. Make informed hiring decisions to consistently achieve weekly metrics and monthly seated-truck goals. Onboarding & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Schedule and confirm driver orientation and certification dates, arrange pre-employment drug/medical screenings, execute formal offer letters, and assist with travel logistics. Collaborate regularly with Operations, Safety, and HR teams to understand fleet staffing needs and driver qualifications. Maintain cost awareness throughout the recruiting, sourcing, and onboarding process. Requirements & Qualifications Qualifications: Education & Experience: 1+ years of experience in sales, recruiting, talent acquisition, or marketing required. Industry Experience: Prior recruitment experience within the transportation, trucking, or logistics industry is strongly preferred. Software & Tech Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Tenstreet, DriverIQ, or AS400 is strongly desired. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of commercial fleet operations, traffic lanes, and CDL driving positions. Excellent phone, text, and written communication skills with strong candidate engagement abilities. Deep understanding of DOT driver qualification rules, background checks, and compliance procedures. High organization, time-management, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
