Recreational Arts Program Manager Overview (Duties Include But Are Not Limited) It is important to note that recreational arts and other recreational activities to include service dog training, are distinct from clinical therapies and other activities and programs implemented by the medical staff and yet the objectives are similar: to promote the wellbeing of patients and families. Recreational activities are educational/recreational in nature, and thus do not require formal credentialing for provision of clinical care. There is a need to improve the liaison between recreational program staff and clinical staff, as well as to develop better guidelines for recreational artist training, qualifications, and procedures. The program manager will act as this liaison and to establish and monitor the safety, appropriateness, and success of various activities within the program as well as the program's overall success and impact on the organization. The program manager will act in consultation with the COR and the Government's clinical SME(s) to resolve any issue or question regarding the safety or appropriateness of a proposed recreational activity. The program manager may also be required to meet with patients and families as appropriate to facilitate the management of the recreational arts program. Provide on-site program management and oversight for the recreational arts, adaptive sports, and service dog training activities and programs which are conducted, offered, or promoted as a part of this contract. Act as liaison between the contractor program staff and the government's clinical providers /staff and the COR. Maintain a weekly schedule of recreational program activities taking place on the campus and provide this to the Wellness Lead. Assist in the development of policies and procedures for implementation of Recreational Arts activities, such as visiting artists, arts collections, etc. Assist in the development of competencies and standards of assessment and performance for staff of the recreational arts and service dog training programs. Ensure conformity to the facilities standards and regulations. Meet regularly with recreational arts staff, visiting artists, and service dog training program staff to assure sufficiency of training and support. Interact with arts therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral health clinicians to ensure smooth interface between clinical therapy and recreational activities. Educate the community of the role of the arts and recreational activities in healthcare. Maintain any registered status or licensure which is required to practice in their area of expertise, including continuing professional education. Meet all requirements in order to maintain a license, certificate, or professional registration in good standing. For those areas of expertise that do not require a license, maintain a form of recognized certification of competence in that field. Qualifications Master's degree in Arts in Medicine, Arts Program Management, Arts and Healthcare, Arts in Healthcare Management, Wellness Program Management, or substantially similar field, from an accredited college or university. Possess a minimum of three years of arts, recreation, or wellness program management experience in a hospital setting. Knowledge / experience in the role of arts and recreational activities in healthcare. Knowledge/experience with research procedures and protocols, grants procedures, and biostatistics strongly preferred. Knowledge/experience working with patients and families with traumatic brain injury/psychological health (TBI/PH) issues strongly preferred. Possess strong organizational and communication skills. Possess experience with budgeting and reporting. Must have and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as approved through the American Heart Association (AHA). #J-18808-Ljbffr KurzSolutions
