Job Description

Spanish Immersion Kindergarten Teacher – Terra San Francisco School

Inspire curiosity. Cultivate compassion. Reimagine education.

About Terra San Francisco School

Terra San Francisco School is a pioneering Preschool–8th grade program rooted in multilingual (Spanish and Mandarin) immersion, nature-based learning, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework . We are a community of educators and families committed to nurturing the personal, intellectual, and emotional growth of each child through innovative and inclusive teaching practices.

At TSFS, teachers are the heart of our school. They lead with curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy—modeling the same values we hope to instill in our students. Our educators honor each child’s unique strengths while guiding them toward becoming self-directed learners, collaborative thinkers, and responsible stewards of the natural world.

What Makes Terra Unique

• Trilingual Immersion: Students learn in English, Spanish, and Mandarin—developing global awareness, cognitive flexibility, and empathy.
• Nature-Based Learning: Each week, students and teachers spend a full day outdoors guided by expert Nature Educators, deepening their connection to the environment and their own sense of wonder.
• Project-Based Learning: Our curriculum is anchored in inquiry and real-world relevance. Students explore academic concepts through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. In our Preschool, this approach evolves into a Reggio Emilia-inspired model, where young learners’ interests guide emergent curriculum experiences that nurture curiosity and agency.
• International Baccalaureate (IB): Our curriculum progressively aligns with IB standards to foster globally minded, reflective learners.

Why Work With Us

• Small Class Sizes & Low Ratios: With a student-teacher ratio of 10:1, you’ll have the time and space to form meaningful connections and support individual learning.
• Holistic, Mission-Driven Curriculum: Join a school that integrates academic rigor with social-emotional learning, creative expression, and outdoor exploration.
• Diverse, Inclusive Community : Over half of our teachers and students are multi-ethnic; about half of our families receive scholarships; and many have lived or worked internationally.

Perks & Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate: $45,000-$72,000, based on experience and skillset
• Health and dental insurance options
• Weekends and federal holidays off
• Opportunities for professional development, including training, mentorship, and a pathway to International Baccalaureate (IB) certification
