Senior System Engineer

Overview Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer to architect, implement, and optimize the enterprise Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange, Active Directory, and Intune. This role requires comprehensive expertise across the Microsoft technology stack including Azure, virtualization, integrations, automation, and security. The Senior Engineer will design secure, scalable enterprise solutions leveraging the full Microsoft ecosystem, and lead the implementation of a new Microsoft tenant and associated infrastructure in alignment with corporate security policies and Microsoft best practices. Responsibilities Architect and implement a new Microsoft tenant and infrastructure from the ground up; design and execute migration strategy from legacy systems. Configure and deploy Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, and OneDrive. Evaluate current infrastructure and recommend optimizations for services and platforms such as VDI, SaaS components, and automation tools. Build integrations and automations between Microsoft systems and third-party applications through scripting and workflow tools. Collaborate with security teams to design and implement comprehensive security solutions. Implement and optimize Intune for end-to-end mobile device, application, and security management. Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions. Create detailed technical documentation including KB articles, SOPs, and architectural diagrams. Lead training for IT staff on new systems and processes. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide high-level escalation support. Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders on strategic IT initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of IT systems engineering experience with a focus on Microsoft technologies. Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, architecture, and security. Strong experience with Azure infrastructure design and implementation. Proven experience with virtual desktop infrastructure solutions (Citrix/AVD). Demonstrated ability to build integrations and develop automation solutions. Advanced expertise with Active Directory, Azure AD, and federation. Extensive experience with Exchange Online configuration, management, and migration. Expert-level knowledge of Intune and modern device/application management. Strong understanding of security, governance, and Zero Trust architecture. Experience with identity management and SSO solutions. Project management experience with large infrastructure migrations. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Outstanding customer service and professionalism in handling sensitive or confidential information (including HIPAA/PHI). Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change using metrics and data-driven insights. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to evaluate alternatives and solutions. High drive to perform, achieve objectives, and collaborate effectively across teams.
