School Registered Nurse | Plainfield, New Jersey

Make a meaningful impact supporting a young student's daily needs in a school environment. This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide one-on-one care for a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD). The assignment runs from June 1 to June 26, 2026, and is based on-site near Plainfield, NJ.


Your role will be essential in ensuring the student's health and safety throughout their school hours, including transport on the bus. You'll be part of a dedicated educational support environment, working weekdays from 8am to 3pm (approximately 35 hours weekly).


Key Qualifications Desired:

• Active RN license in New Jersey required
• Previous pediatric nursing experience is mandatory
• Skilled with NG-tube care (no G-tube)
• Comfortable with lifting and transporting a non-ambulatory child (~24 lbs)
• Knowledgeable in providing school-based nursing care
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in health-related situations
• Professional, compassionate communication with teachers and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily health care and monitoring for the student
• Manage NG-tube feedings and care according to medical protocols
• Safely lift and transport the student as needed
• Accompany and monitor the student during bussing to and from school
• Maintain accurate daily health documentation
• Collaborate with school personnel and parents regarding care needs
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times
