- # PHARMACY ASSISTANTApplyremote type: Onsitelocations: Samaritan Medical Centertime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R3291Location:Samaritan Medical CenterDepartment:01.8471 SMC PHARMACYPay Range:$17.97 - $27.86Care for our community, and your career.* Must communicate effectively and show eagerness to learn* Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.* Obtains and maintains appropriate knowledge and understanding of the department Policies and Procedures as well as Joint Commission medication management standards.* Performs essential functions related to inventory control such as rotating stock, replenishing stock, performing medication audits and monitoring for outdates.* Performs activities as directed in accordance with federal, state and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.* Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.* Operates computer systems and utilizes technology such as Meditech and Omnicell. May need to troubleshoot issues with equipment and discrepancies.* Responsible for entering medication charges in system accurately.* Performs essential functions related to maintaining IV room certification such as cleaning of IV room and surrounding areas.* *The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned in alignment with experience and education. (For example, medication historian duties, or IV room duties.)*At least one year of previous pharmacy work experience is desired. The goal is to achieve Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year of date of hire. Retail experience preferred for medication historian role.NYS registration and sterile compounding certificate required for IV room compounding.
