Step into an impactful role for the 2026-2027 school year as a dedicated special education professional working with high school students. This contract opportunity focuses on serving a diverse caseload, supporting students’ academic and personal growth in both case management and classroom instruction, with a particular need for those qualified in special education social studies. The position entails a weekly schedule of 35-40 hours, aligning with an early start and early finish (6:45am – 2:45pm), ideal for those who value structure and work-life balance.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current or pending Delaware Special Education Certification (high school level)
- Experience managing case files and educational plans for students with IEPs
- Certification or demonstrable ability to instruct special education social studies content
- Availability for onsite work throughout the contract period
- Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen and background check
- Spanish language proficiency is a valuable asset, though not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students
- Provide specialized social studies instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
- Manage and maintain accurate documentation for all assigned students
- Foster a supportive classroom environment, collaborating with other faculty and support staff
- Communicate clearly with families and participate in IEP meetings
