Job Description

Job Title: CASHIER/CLERICAL Location: Denver, CO, 80123 Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of extension)

· Clerical Support Specialist III – Cashiers

· Employment contingent upon skills/aptitude test

JOB SUMMARY:

· Under general supervision assists in coordinating the cashier and cash handling operations of Health.

· Assists with processing, reconciliation and balancing of deposits and ensures all funds and deposits are appropriately accounted for and secured.

· Assembles and verifies daily cash reports making adjustments to the reports as needed.

· Orders supplies for the department and banking supplies for new cash handling sites, and maintains organized, detailed, and accurate records.

· Monitors the day-to-day vault activity, places change orders and maintains detailed accurate records.

· Responsible for performing a variety of functions involving the receipt, recording, balancing and disbursement of sums of money under established guidelines.

· Provides coverage for other clerical support positions within the department.

· Promotes positive customer relations in dealing with patients, visitors, and other employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from High School or GED Certificate. Experience: Typically, three years of accounts receivables or cash handling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to handle cash and other forms of payments, and reconcile, balance and post payments maintaining organized detailed records.

· Perform general clerical functions including basic Excel; operate a 10 key calculator, basic Microsoft Office and Customer Service skills with the ability to effectively interact with people on the phone, in person, and through email communication.

· Certificate/License/Registration: None. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· List each job duty and responsibility that is essential to performing the job successfully, efficiently and safely.

· 82% Assists in coordinating the cashier and cash handling operations of Denver Health.

· Assists with processing, reconciliation and balancing of deposits and ensures all funds and deposits are appropriately accounted for and secured.

· Assembles and verifies daily cash reports making adjustments to the reports as needed.

· Orders supplies for the department and banking supplies for new cash handling sites, and maintains organized, detailed, and accurate records.

· Monitors the day-to-day vault activity, places change orders and maintains detailed accurate records.

· Responsible for performing a variety of functions involving the receipt, recording, balancing and disbursement of sums of money under established guidelines.

· 5% Answers phone inquiries and researches deposit inquiries. Shares window deposit coverage responsibilities which include accepting, verifying and balancing deposits received at the depository window.

· Provides customers with a receipt which is a copy of the signed deposit transmittal.
