Operating Room Coordinator

:

Under the direction of the Clerical Supervisor, the OR Coordinator functions as an active member of the Surgical Services support team. This individual contributor works collaboratively with Surgical staff to coordinate perioperative care of surgical patients and communicate with patients/families. This role requires a high level of competence in utilizing complex specialized OR and other computer systems, excellent telephone etiquette, and strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus. Specific areas of responsibility will be assigned most of the time; however, will be assigned to cover all areas as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

• Effectively communicates with patients/families/visitors and internal customers regarding patient care
• Performs clerical and operational support functions in partnership with nursing staff, physicians, internal departments, and external facilities to coordinate care
• Audits and updates electronic medical record and case log documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of computer/data entry experience required
• Medical/Surgical background preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Schedule:

This is a 0.5 FTE (40 hours per two week pay period). Shifts will mainly be weekdays, 8 hour shifts, with start times ranging from 4:30am-10:00am
