Senior QA Engineer (Founding / Automation & Release Infrastructure)

Salary: $200,000 - $400,000 Base + Equity
Company Description

This high-growth fintech platform is building a real-time prediction market that allows users to trade on outcomes across global events. Operating at the intersection of finance, media, and crypto, the platform processes billions in trading volume and is rapidly becoming a new source of truth for real-world probabilities. With increasing scale and complexity, the company is investing in foundational engineering functions to support reliability, trust, and user safety.
What You Will Do

• Build the quality assurance function from the ground up, defining testing strategy and standards
• Design and implement automated test infrastructure across web apps, backend APIs, and critical transaction flows
• Own release quality by defining testing processes that balance speed and reliability
• Deeply understand product behavior to identify high-risk areas, especially in trading and financial flows
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to catch issues before production
• Establish bug tracking, reporting, and quality metrics visibility across engineering
• Partner closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high-quality releases
• Hire and mentor a small QA team as the function scales

Ideal Background

• 3+ years of experience in QA Engineering or SDET roles, preferably in fast-growing startups
• Proven experience building automated test frameworks from scratch
• Strong experience with modern testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
• Full-stack testing experience across frontend applications and backend APIs
• Experience testing financial, trading, or high-stakes transactional systems
• Familiarity with TypeScript or Python for automation
• Experience integrating testing into CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.)
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence engineering decisions and quality standards
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with high ownership

Preferred

• Experience in crypto, DeFi, or blockchain-based systems
• Background in trading platforms, betting systems, or financial exchanges
• Experience leading or mentoring QA teams
• Exposure to performance/load testing and system scalability
• Experience with mobile (iOS) testing
• Familiarity with security testing practices
