Job TitleDuties include but are not limited to:Corporate Department ResponsibilitiesConduct oneself with integrity, considering the Company established business mission, vision, and values, to provide solution-based benefits for Star of the West, its employees and its business partners.Assist Director in conducting regular, well-organized and thorough reviews of Written Programs, Company Policies, Department Functions and Risk ControlsProvide guidance, develop tools and audit facilities to assist locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota and New York in achieving desired compliance related outcomes.Participate in Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activities and other projects as assigned by Management TeamConduct required training including but not limited to; New Hire Orientation, DOT Hazmat, Drug and Alcohol Supervisory Training, Driver New Hire Training,Project Management, while managing change with deliberate speed, as determined by Management TeamConduct incident and near-miss investigations and ensure completion of identified corrective actions.Assist Safety and Security Director in Project implementation, daily and weekly functionsActively Participate in outreach with local emergency responders and community stakeholders.Assist in management of Corporate propertiesCorporate Department of Transportation DOT ResponsibilitiesAdminister and Continue to develop Department of Transportation Programs with objective of Corporate ComplianceAdminister and Manage DOT and Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing PoolsManage DOT Driver Files for existing and new hire employeesDevelop and Manage DOT Hazardous Material Shipping ComplianceDevelop and Manage DOT Intermediate Bulk Container ComplianceDepartment of Transportation Hours of Service Compliance, Log ReviewStay current with regard to new developments in the industry and rules and regulationsAnalyze Company Operator Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) for compliance with jurisdictional, job description and insurance requirements,Driver Policy Manual Construction and ManagementCorporate Fleet ResponsibilitiesMaintain Comprehensive Listing of Company Vehicles and EquipmentMaintain Vehicle Registrations for Company Units- Apportioned and Intrastate RegistrationsManage Vehicle Insurance CoveragesManage Vehicle Accident FilesFile Annual Highway Use tax informationManage Annual Canadian Insurance BondManage Canadian Border Services Agency InfoManage Ontario Commercial Vehicle Operators RegistrationManage Fuel Tax ComplianceManage Kosher Certification for TrailersManage Annual United Carrier RegistrationManage Transportation Maintenance Documentation ComplianceAssist in Management of fleet telematics systemsManage Corporate Vehicle PoolMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree from four-year college / university or high school diploma with three (3) years' experience in transportation compliance, trucking or a related field.Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, bend, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders, work at heights, wear PPE, and emergency response equipment as neededAbility to define problems, collect data and communicate effectively with employees and government agencies. Comfortable speaking to groups and teaching in a classroom environment.Ability to read, analyze and interpret regulations or other industry documents.Strong oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving skillsBe willing to travel up to 20% of expected work time to locations which may involve overnight staysPhysical DemandsSit for extended periods of timeStand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hearOccasionally required to climb in high precarious placesOccasionally required to move/lift up to 50 lbs.Work EnvironmentMay occasionally work in environments where exposure to certain chemicals or electrical components is possible.
