Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian III – (exempt) At Chewy Vet Care, we’re changing the veterinary care experience! With the launch of our new veterinary practices, we are looking for a full‑time Associate Veterinarian to join our Healthcare Practice Team in the Phoenix Metro Area. As a clinical team member, you’ll work in a practice crafted from the ground up by veterinarians, equipped with advanced equipment and purpose‑built technology so that you can practice your best medicine and focus on patient and pet parent care. What You’ll Do Empower the team to deliver an unparalleled client experience. Develop rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes. Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that delivers quality care while minimizing stress and discomfort of patients. Master medical skills and perform basic surgery. Explain physical examination findings, communicate a diagnosis, and generate and present a treatment plan to the client. Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and keep all logs up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow‑up and future management of the patient. Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attending continuing education meetings. Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care. Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public. Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants as needed. Participate in self‑development courses along with Chewy Vet Care required compliance training. Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management. Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies. Position may require some travel. What You’ll Need A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) is required. Active state license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required. 2‑3 years of experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained. Preferred: 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines. Multi‑task with a high degree of integrity and accountability. Outstanding listening and problem‑solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team‑oriented environment. Passionate about helping people and pets with compassion and excellent customer service focus. Ability to multi‑task and perform well in a fast‑paced, self‑starter environment. Physical Job Requirements Standing or walking up to 80% of a shift. Frequently lift 50 to 70 pounds using an optional team lift. Occasionally lift greater than 70 pounds using a team lift.
