MS/Tele RN Job Breakdown

Unit: Ortho / Oncology / Medical-Surgical Telemetry (6th Floor)
Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Weekly Hours: 36 hrs/week
Charting: Meditech
Patient Ratio: 1:6

Core Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: ~20–22 hrs/week
  Provide care for Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedic, and Oncology patients.
• Telemetry Monitoring: ~4–5 hrs/week
  Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient status, and communicate findings to providers.
• Medication & Treatment Administration: ~4–5 hrs/week
  Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products (if applicable), and perform patient treatments.
• Patient Assessment & Care Planning: ~3–4 hrs/week
  Complete comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Documentation & Care Coordination: ~3–4 hrs/week
  Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS Required
• 2+ Years Acute Care Experience
• Med-Surg and Telemetry experience preferred

• No call requirement
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other Med-Surg units as needed
