Janitor

JOB SUMMARY:

Keeps premises of office and production areas in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cleans rooms, hallways, break room, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, and furniture.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Adhere to plant and departmental safety rules and ensure that hazardous materials are handled and/or disposed of properly.
• Use cleaning supplies safely and efficiently.
• Regular attendance on the job, dependability and reliability are required.
• Read labels for proper use of cleaning chemicals/materials.
• Knowledge of safe work habits to ensure proper use of safety equipment provided.
• Responsible for communicating and working well with fellow employees.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Initiate request for cleaning and service supplies prior to stock out.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in neat and orderly manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :


Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.


. REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS :


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, feel and lift; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds.. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must wear proper safety equipment and follow all GMPs.
