Fraud Investigations Analyst I Full Time Professional 1235 Electric Rd, Salem, VA, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1578 Salary Range: $25.24 To $31.55 Hourly Role: Ensure adequate fraud and suspicious activity prevention and detection practices are employed in Fraud Risk Management to reduce the Credit Union's and member's exposure to fraud and losses. Assist in the day-to-day operations of all Fraud Risk Management functions. Oversee completion of all daily/semi-monthly Verafin alerts and Verafin case management process, OFAC searches, and sampling of deposit and loan file maintenance reports. Perform research and file various BSA reports. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 25% Work daily and weekly Verafin alerts and perform consumer and business behavior reviews. 25% Analyze member information, prepare and ensure FinCEN and OFAC Reports are filed in accordance with the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC time frames. 25% Perform various BSA/MIP/employee account/file maintenance reviews as assigned and report issues to Management. Make recommendations to Deposit Operations and branches when member fraud is noted. 25% Ensure adequate fraud, money laundering, and other suspicious activity monitoring, prevention and detection practices are employed with Fraud Risk Management staff to reduce the Credit Union's and member's exposure to fraud and minimize the risk of potential losses. Performance Measurements: 1. Must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including, but not limited to, OFAC and the Bank Secrecy Act. Meets or exceeds performance expectations as described in Essential Functions and Responsibilities. Please refer to Annual Performance Goal document for remaining Performance Measurements. Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills Effective communication skills required in both written and spoken communications. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities, particularly in analyzing member transactions. Must be highly detail oriented, able to learn quickly, and able to work effectively with other individuals, and departments and/or independently. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
