Facilities Maintenance Technician

The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek. Job Type Unclassified About the Position The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of Maricopa County facilities, including keeping spaces, structures, and infrastructure in proper operating condition through a routine, scheduled, or anticipated fashion to prevent failure or degradation. About Us As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation Special working environments include, but are not limited to, adult and juvenile detention facilities, medical facilities (both detention and public health), forensics, courts, and related justice facilities Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware Must be proficient with and capable of using basic hand tools, benders, cordless power tools, electrical testing equipment, including multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter, circuit tracer, etc. Must be capable of working with aerial lifts upon completion of County-provided training. Must be capable of using various forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
