Assistant General Manager The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in directing passenger transit operations at Augusta, GA under the Augusta‑Richmond County contract. The role focuses on day‑to‑day operations, facility safety, customer service, and managing financials. Key Responsibilities Direct daily operations management. Provide strategic planning and direction to the operations staff. Manage contract compliance. Shared responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing for the facility’s management staff. Perform other duties as required. Travel outside of immediate area (less than 5%). Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred. 5–7 years of supervisory or management experience in vehicle maintenance and repair industry. Additional 5 years of vehicle / heavy equipment repair experience. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws; laws, ordinances and regulations underlying transit operations. Knowledge of transit system operations and operational departments. Ability to deal with state and local government. Ability to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locations. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels. Strong attention to detail and ability to organize work efficiently. Ability to navigate labor relations issues and work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiations. Benefits Competitive compensation package: minimum $68,000 per year – maximum $85,000 per year. Vacation: minimum two (2) weeks. Sick days: 5 days. Physical Requirements Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Generally subjected to long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
