Senior AI/ML Engineer

The Advanced Systems Department is seeking a Sr. AI/ML Engineer (Sr. Project Engineer - Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning) to work on leading research and development challenges for future ISR architectures. This position requires 100% on-site work in Chantilly, VA. What You’ll Be Doing Lead a portfolio of projects applying AI/ML expertise to support development of new ISR capabilities. Coordinate a team of technical contributors and act as spokesperson to customers. Identify novel AI/ML-based solutions for enterprise level problems. Explore solutions for ensuring trust in autonomy applications. Explore solutions to ease transition of new tools from R&D demonstrations to baseline systems. Work directly with government, other FFRDC, and SETA staff to design and implement roadmaps and strategies. Develop effective recommendations and strategies to advance the customer vision. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, or science field. 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in aerospace, defense, or related technical fields. Experience applying AI/ML techniques or advanced analytical methods to complex technical problems. Experience utilizing a diverse range of capabilities to solve technical problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting and presentations. Proactive approach to problem‑solving with ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments. Ability to effectively collaborate with government stakeholders and leadership. Current and active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or science field. Experience developing and testing containerized applications. Experience with operational enterprise systems and mission operations. Involvement with research and development organizations. Compensation Pay Basis: Annual. Salary range: $166,400.00 – $249,600.00.
