Field Engineer

MCA , your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Field Engineer in Austin, TX to support our fast‑growing Security division. What you will be doing: Overseeing system infrastructure, hosting, connectivity, and licensing. Program and commission systems for projects. Develop programming documents and system matrices. Perform pre‑installation programming, kitting, and device configuration. Provide technical support to other technicians. Apply digital licenses as needed. Ensure quality assurance on system installations. Maintain and enforce device labeling standards. Collaborate with engineering during design and drafting phases. Contribute to the Design Team by providing drawings, red lines, and as‑builts. Participate in the review process for large or complex projects. Provide field support and on‑the‑job training for technicians, including technical and standards training. Maintain and update job specifications as needed. What you will bring to the team: 5 years of experience in physical security. A bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent work experience. Expert knowledge in Lenel OnGuard Enterprise architecture. Experience in managing, installing, configuring, engineering, and designing. Experience with one or more of the following systems: Lenel S2, Avigilon, Genetec, Axis, Milestone, and other major OEMs. Ability to maintain a US Government Public Trust Clearance (current active clearance, desired). Your environment and physical requirements: The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in various conditions. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, talking or hearing, using personal protective equipment, lifting from the floor, working in outdoor weather conditions, moving equipment up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending a ladder, operating a motor vehicle, and positioning themselves to maintain computers or other equipment as needed. On‑call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules. Travel requirements: Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
