US-Electronic Lab Technician IV
The Electronic Lab Technician IV plays a key role in building, testing, and maintaining high-voltage and high-power electronic prototype devices and associated lab equipment. This position focuses on safe high-voltage work practices, precise fabrication and rework of electronic assemblies, and effective organization and calibration of lab tools and instruments. The technician collaborates closely with design engineers to troubleshoot complex electronic systems and ensure reliable test results in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Apply high-voltage safety procedures and practices at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established safety standards.
- Fabricate cable harnesses and connectors based on specified voltage and current ratings, ensuring safe and reliable operation of high-voltage and high-power electronics.
- Construct, test, and repair prototype devices under test, including associated cables and connectors, following documentation and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot prototype devices using electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, and inputs from design engineers to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) rework, including component replacement, soldering, and repair of circuit boards to meet design and quality requirements.
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and other standard lab instruments to conduct measurements, diagnostics, and validation tests.
- Manage and maintain lab equipment, instruments, and tools, including hand and power tools, to ensure they are in proper working condition and readily available.
- Oversee lab equipment calibration activities to maintain accuracy and reliability of test results and measurement data.
- Carry out routine lab cleaning and organization tasks to maintain a safe, efficient, and orderly work environment.
- Work effectively under dynamic, time-constrained, and multitasking conditions, prioritizing assignments and responding with a high sense of responsibility and urgency.
- Collaborate with design engineers and other technical staff to support development, testing, and improvement of high-voltage and high-power electronic products.
Essential Skills
- 510 years of experience working with electronic assemblies, circuit boards, and lab test environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with PCBA assembly and rework, including component replacement, soldering, and circuit board repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electronic circuits and prototype devices, using documentation and engineering input.
- Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and other standard electronic lab instruments.
- Knowledge and practical experience with high-voltage safety, including safety procedures, practices, and proper use of PPE.
- Experience fabricating cable harnesses and connectors based on voltage and current ratings.
- Demonstrated ability to work under dynamic, time-constrained, and multitasking conditions.
- Self-starter mindset with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- High sense of responsibility and urgency toward work assignments and lab deliverables.
- Associate degree in electronics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience building and testing high-voltage and high-power electronics products is a strong plus.
- Background in circuit board assembly and rework in a development or prototype lab environment.
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for electronic test equipment.
- Comfort working closely with design engineers and technical teams to support product development and testing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in fabrication, testing, and documentation.
Work Environment
This role is based in an electronic laboratory environment that focuses on high-voltage and high-power prototype development. The technician works with a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and standard electronic lab instruments, as well as hand and power tools for assembly and fabrication. The work involves hands-on construction, rework, and troubleshooting of circuit boards, cable harnesses, and connectors, often under tight deadlines and shifting priorities. The lab is maintained in an organized and clean condition, with regular equipment calibration to ensure accurate measurements. Safety is a core aspect of the environment, particularly regarding high-voltage procedures and use of appropriate PPE. Attire is typically practical and suitable for a technical lab setting, supporting safe and comfortable performance of hands-on tasks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
