QA Lab Technician: 3rd Shift - Precision Inspection & SPC

Start-up approvals and last shot inspections. Performing S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control). Monitor SPC data including conformance to control limits. Complete containment of suspect product when defects are detected. Generate Internal Corrective Action Report when necessary. Continuous upkeep of all inspection records, logs, and retains. Marking, tagging, and maintaining reference samples. Follow instructions and procedures for all aspects of the job. Ensure all parts produced meet all inspection criteria. Ensure finished secondary parts meet customer requirements. Isolate and properly tag all questionable received components and parts. Assist the shift supervisor in ensuring work is done right the first time. Lead the shift pass-down meetings at the end of the shift. Ensure necessary issues are communicated to the shift supervisor and the QA floor technician. Perform other duties assigned by the QA manager. Required Skills/Abilities Use various types of inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, vision machine, gauge pins, gauge blocks, Windows PC, etc. Understand S.P.C. Read blueprints. Read, write, and speak English. Determine subtle variations in color (color testing performed after hiring and repeated every two years). Education and Experience High school education or equivalent. Minimum one year experience in an injection molding environment. Minimum one year experience in a QA environment. Experience with vision inspection equipment. Ability to interact with people well. Deviations allowed based on ability to learn. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Ability to lift 15 lbs. Ability to access and navigate each department within the organization’s facilities.
