Production Line Operator

Welding Team MemberFIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are actively seeking a Welding Team Member to work on the production line. This position involves being a Machine Operator to a welding machine by placing automotive parts into a machine to be welded automatically. No welding experience is necessary.Essential Job FunctionsPerform process evaluation by completing forms prior to shift or operating machinesAssemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal componentsLoad workpieces into welding machinesStart, monitor, and adjust robotic welding production linesTurn and press buttons to start welding machinesInstall appropriate electrode size and type, tips, and welding rod or wireRemove part from welding machines and place final products into containersRecord operational information on specified production reportsTest and visually inspect completed workpieces for defects or quality issues, using leak testsUse hand tools, such as hammers, chisels, wrenches, and wire cuttersNotify Maintenance or Team Leader to correct problems with machine operationFollow written instructions from Quality Control to ensure conformance with specificationsNotify Quality Control of any defective partsFollow standard work instructionsPerform other duties assignedOther Job FunctionsComply with FIC's Safety policies and proceduresComply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standardsPerform 5-S activitiesRequirementsMust be able to speak and read basic English to comply with position, Safety, Plant & PPE procedures & requirementsMust be willing to cross-trainMust be able to work company's required overtimeMust comply with FIC's Attendance and Punctuality PolicyPay: $16/hour – $18/hour, based on qualifications and experienceAdditional Compensation: We operate two shifts and 2nd Shift employees are given a $1/hour shift differentialBenefits OfferedMedical plans offered through Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Delta Dental, and VSP VisionFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Healthcare FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Transit FSA401(k) – Company will match 50% of the first 6% you contribute to your 401(k)Basic Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability paid by employerOptional Supplemental Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability (Employee Paid)Vacation, Holiday, and Personal Days PaidAbout FIC America Corp.Established in 1994 by Futaba Industrial Co., Ltd., we have been in Carol Stream, IL from the beginning and added an additional facility in Bloomingdale, IL.
