HDR is seeking a Transit Engineering Leader to guide a successful and growing practice in the Mid-Atlantic (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia). This leader will provide programmatic and technical leadership as well as project management for a variety of transit engineering related contracts and clients. This position requires strong management skills and experience working with a variety of transit capital projects such as track, structures, facilities, and systems. In addition to leading delivery efforts, this role will also guide program growth, client engagement, and industry involvement.In the role of Mid-Atlantic Transit Engineering Leader, we'll count on you to:Provide programmatic and technical leadership for transit engineering disciplinesDeliver project management for a variety of transit engineering related contracts (track, structures, facilities, and systems) for our clientsGuide program growth, client engagement, and industry involvementEstablish client relations and be involved with marketing and client development activitiesPrepare scopes and fees for a variety of contracts and projectsCollaborate with other disciplines on staff assignments and assignment prioritiesContract managementTeam growth and mentorship of junior staffPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandExperience with Mid-Atlantic Area transit agencies such as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the Maryland Transit Administration, Virginia Railway Express, Virginia Passenger Rail Authority, and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public TransportationKnowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local standards and requirements related to transit-focused project delivery processes such as conceptual design and feasibility, environmental documentation, preparation of Plan, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E), and providing Design Support During Construction (DSDC)Preference given to local candidates*LI-MJ1QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR valuesMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience Experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
