Greenbelt Museum Camp Volunteers
FRIENDS OF THE GREENBELT MUSEUM INC
The Greenbelt Museum is seeking enthusiastic Activity Camp Volunteers to support the hands‑on educational activities, that we offer summer campers. Volunteers help bring local history to life by assisting with the activities.
Responsibilities
- Program Support — Assist museum educators with daily camp activities, setup, and cleanup
- Child Engagement — Encourage participation, answer questions, and help maintain a positive learning environment
- Activity Leadership — Lead small‑group crafts, games, or history‑themed projects
- Safety Awareness — Help monitor campers and follow museum safety procedures
Qualifications
- Interest in history, museums, education, or working with children
- Reliable, friendly, and comfortable interacting with youth
- Ability to stand, move, and assist with hands‑on activities both indoors and outdoors
- Prior experience with camps or teaching is helpful but not required
Time Commitment
- Weekday shifts during camp sessions (typically 3–5 hours)
- Volunteers may serve for one week or multiple sessions
