Whether modifying aircraft to help protect our service members overseas, performing geographical mapping for scientific research, or working to suppress large wildfires on the West Coast, we serve with integrity and excellence.Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist I provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team with a strong focus on recruiting, recordkeeping, benefits support, onboarding, and employee engagement. This entry-level role ensures HR processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all states of operation. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and discretion while supporting multiple HR functions.Key Responsibilities:Leads full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboardingLeads new hire orientation room setup and cleanupFacilitates new hire orientation on a rotating scheduleAssists with onboarding preparation and documentationSupports job fairs and recruiting events as neededMonitors federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance deadlines (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA) across applicable states of operation and escalates updates to HR leadershipMaintains compliant employee records, including personnel files, I-9s, and medical filesEnsures proper retention and secure destruction of HR records in accordance with record retention schedulesConducts internal audits of employee files and HR processesPerforms regularly scheduled audits, including new hire files, active and inactive I-9s, and termination foldersPrepares documentation for external audits or investigations as requestedSupports the Total Rewards Manager with benefits compliance audits and reportingAssists with planning and execution of employee engagement events and initiativesSupports employee surveys, data collection, and analysisProvides recommendations to improve employee engagement based on participation and feedbackCoordinates and schedules company tours, including communication with external guests and internal tour guidesCoordinates company sponsorship requests and processes payments upon HR leadership approvalAssists with coordination and execution of All Hands meetings and company-wide eventsRequired Qualifications:Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance conceptsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretionEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesExperience supporting audits or recordkeeping processesPrevious internship or entry-level experience in Human Resources or compliance preferredFamiliarity with HRIS systems preferredPreferred Qualifications:SHRM-CP or PHR certifications3-5 years of recruiting experienceExperience facilitating orientations and employee trainingAdditional Requirements:Ability to travel up to 10% as requiredAbility to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and company informationAbility to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or customer-specific credentials, if applicableWorking Conditions:Work Schedule is Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm or 7 am-4 pm). Schedule may fluctuate to include after hours and weekend shifts based on business needsPrimarily office-based with frequent collaboration across Human Resources, leadership, and other business functionsFrequent use of HRIS platforms, reporting tools, Microsoft Office applications, and other business systemsFast-paced environment managing multiple priorities, projects, and employee support activities while meeting established deadlinesPay Band: $21.88-$29.33 per hour.
