Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of outpatient infusion experience. The ideal candidate will possess ONS chemotherapy and biotherapy certification, valid for a 2-year cycle. This is a full-time position requiring 4 shifts of 9 hours each, with potential start times at either 07:30 or 08:00. This role includes weekend coverage every other full weekend.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Day 4x9-Hour (07:30 - 16:30) or (08:00 - 17:00)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other full weekend, 08:00 - 16:00

Job Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies.
• Access and manage ports, including care for central and implanted lines.
• Handle body fluids post-chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills.
• Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy and manage side effects.
• Implement neutropenic precautions and recognize abnormal lab values.
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy and biotherapy certification.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.

Skills

• Accessing and managing ports.
• Administration of chemotherapy and IV push chemotherapy.
• Monitoring and managing chemotherapy side effects.
• Handling cytotoxic spills and waste disposal.

This role involves working in an infusion center with a focus on patient-centered care. Candidates must be prepared to provide care within a multidisciplinary team environment and adapt to the dynamic needs of the patients.
