Base pay starts at $28.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The domicile driver will be expected to transport deliver and/or unload metal roofing panels to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This is an  over the road  delivery driving position.

• Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customers location and/ or return products
• Deliver material in route truck/multi-drop fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations such as heavy traffic inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs fuel purchases mileage records and other records required by law
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all Federal State and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
• Able to answer questions regarding packing lists invoices packaging and material content. If unable to answer specific questions direct customer to appropriate contact
• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
• Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Valid Medical Card
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
• Ability to stoop bend stand for long periods of time
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
