Tax Accountant II

The company is currently seeking an experienced Tax Accountant II to be a part of a dynamic in-house tax department to handle all tax aspects of a business. Responsibilities Major Areas of Responsibility Corporate Tax Preparation of Form 1120 Preparation of state corporate income and franchise tax return Preparation of local corporate income tax returns Preparation of quarterly federal and state tax provisions Preparation of quarterly federal, state and local tax estimates Tax Depreciation schedules for federal and state R&D Credit and Section 174 reports Sales Tax Sales tax reports Sales tax Exemption certificates review- received and given Reconciliation of sales tax accounts Property Tax Personal property tax reports Reconciliations of fixed assets to GL and to property tax returns 1099 Preparation/Local Business Licenses Support accountants on types of 1099s, reports Prepare and file local business licenses All other matters as they relate to tax Qualifications Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and quantitative competencies Ability to multi-task and solve problems Possess intellectual agility; readily accepts challenges of unfamiliar task Speaks and writes clearly and effectively even when relating complex information. Expresses ideas in a concise and organized manner Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills Dependable and trustworthyHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to use technology to increase efficiency Education & Experience Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent 3-4 years experience in a corporate tax department (public or private) is required Experience with Longview Tax Provision Software a plus Experience in preparing corporate income tax returns and/or provision work required Experience with SAP a plus CPA not required Demonstrated Physical Abilities Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
