Because Amex Tech is powered by our technology, our culture, and our colleagues.Senior Manager, Program Management manages and supervises several project teams, assesses resources needs, supports collaboration across several stakeholders, and provides regular updates to senior stakeholders on project performance.ResponsibilitiesSupports colleagues in managing, directing, and supervising several project teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork to achieve program goalsAssesses resource needs and makes strategic decisions to optimize resource allocation and project efficiencyCo-creates solutions with senior stakeholders to identify program needs and develop innovative solutions that align with business objectivesDevelops and implements processes that encourage the adoption of best practices and innovative approaches to program managementDevelops and designs thorough risk assessments and ensures all project activities comply with relevant regulatory standards and organizational policiesGuides and supports coordination, collaboration, and alignment between product owners, architects, and engineers to meet regulatory and technical requirementsProvides regular updates to senior stakeholders on project performance, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic objectivesCollaborates cross-functionally with engineering teams to facilitate alignment on the architectural approach and technical strategy to execute deliveryEffectively negotiates and influences senior business leaders to reach desired project outcomes, adapts to situations to resolve issues and gain alignmentOversees the full life cycle of product development, from concept to delivery, including Test Driven Development (TDD)Co-creates solutions with key stakeholders to identify program needs and develop innovative solutions that align with business objectivesAnalyzes project data and industry trends, identifies opportunities and recommendations for operational improvementsFacilitates the management and integration of multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to timelines and budgetsMay or may not oversee and mentor a team of Technology Program Management colleagues, enabling a culture of continuous learning, growth opportunities, and inclusivity for individual colleagues and teams through mentoring, feedback, and metrics, and ensuring adherence to best practices and standardsMay or may not provide direct leadership and coaching to Technology Program Management teams, supporting training and development of best practicesMay or may not manage resource allocation, project timeline, and budget for projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goalsMay or may not collaborate with senior leadership to hire top talent for the team, ensuring a high-functioning and cohesive unit, implementing strategies for talent retention and professional developmentCollaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectivesQualificationsEducation Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferredMBA or Master's degree Engineering, Analytics and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferredKnowledge of Financial ModelingWork Experience:Experience in technology vendor management and Information Technology servicesExperience in leading in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic global environmentExperience in large-scale & complex program delivery comrpised of multiple interlinked projectsExperience in managing/leading technology implementation projectsExperience in project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, Excel, Tableau)Experience in budgeting and financial planning/managementExperience in business case developmentExperience in data analysisExperience in stakeholder management and/or leading complex governance structuresLicenses and Certifications:Project Management Professional (PMI) or equivalent Project Management certification (e.g., Certified Project Management Practitioner, International Project Management Association / Prince 2 / CSM - Certified Scrum Master / CSPO - Certified Scrum product owner)Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
